Â
TROY, Ala. – Deontae Crumitie will put his talents on display one more time at the collegiate level as the Troy offensive lineman has been invited to play in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl on Jan. 13 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Â
A two-time All-Sun Belt selection, Crumitie made history as the first true freshman to start a season opener on the offensive line in the school's recorded history. He went on to start 45 games including 39 straight to end his career.
Â
Crumitie played a key role in the Trojans' school-record run of three consecutive 10-win seasons as Troy tied the best three-year stretch in school history with 31 wins since the start of the 2016 season.
Â
The Lake City, Fla., native allowed just one sack in more than 700 offensive snaps this season after posting similar numbers as a junior last year with just one sack allowed.Â
Â
Crumitie and the Trojans are coming off a third-straight bowl victory (fourth straight dating back to 2010) and a 10-3 season. Troy's 31 wins since the start of the 2016 season currently stand as the eighth most in the country over that period.Â
