TROY, Alabama – Kaylee Davis continued her tear through Sun Belt Conference competition striking twice in Texas State's 3-0 win over Troy at the Troy Soccer Complex on Sunday.
Davis entered the game leading the league with 12 goals, she added to that total scoring in the 79thand 81stminute. Texas State (9-5-1, 7-0-1 SBC) got its first goal from Kayla Geren on a through ball from Mackenzie Smith that split the defense.
Genesis Turman registered both assists on Davis' goals. Texas State outshot Troy 14-8 with Davis firing seven on her own.
Troy's Kendra Cashion led the Trojans with two shots. The Trojans' best scoring chance came in the first half when Lauren Aldrich headed a corner off the crossbar.
UP NEXT
The Trojans (3-12-1, 2-5) return to action on Friday in Little Rock for a 7 p.m. kick. Troy then makes the trek to ULM on Sunday.
