TROY, Alabama โย Arkansas State's Haley Husted scored a hat trick and led the Red Wolves to a 4-1 victory at the Troy Soccer Complex on Friday in Sun Belt Conference action.

Husted scored in the 42nd, 68th, and 90thminutes and also assisted in ASU's (6-5-2, 3-3 SBC) first goal when she delivered a great corner to the head of Taylor Schneider in the 38th.ย

Troy (3-11-1, 2-4) tried to chip away at a 2-0 halftime deficit in the 60thminute. Karina Valeriano scored her first career goal after Kiersten Edlund's penalty kick was saved and rebounded back into play.

Husted put a lid on the game when she collected a loose ball in the box and put it in the net after a deflection. She finished the hat trick after she intercepted an wayward pass in the attacking third and hit a screamer past the Trojan goalkeeper.
