TROY, Ala. – Games against Ole Miss, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Middle Tennessee and Samford highlight the Troy women's basketball team's 2017-18 non-conference schedule.
The full listing of tip times will be released at a later date. Fans first chance to see the Trojans will be on Nov. 1 as the team hosts AUM in an exhibition at 5:15 p.m.
The back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Tournament champions open the regular season in Trojan Arena against Stillman (Nov. 10) before embarking on a three-game road swing that includes matchups with in-state rival Alabama State (Nov. 16) and Ole Miss (Nov. 21).
For the second consecutive season and the third time since the 2013-14 campaign, Troy will visit SEC power Tennessee in Thompson-Boling Arena. In last season's matchup, the Trojans fell, 110-84, but not before cutting a 23-point deficit to just five.
Troy hosts Jacksonville (Dec. 1) and Montevallo (Dec. 9) to wrap up its home non-conference slate. Middle Tennessee (Dec. 14) appears on the Trojans' schedule for the first time since 2012-13, the Blue Raiders last season in the Sun Belt. Samford hosts Troy on Dec. 17 before the Trojans head to New Orleans to take part in the Tulane Classic on Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 playing the host Green Wave and either Samford or UTEP.
With the departure of seven seniors, head coach Chanda Rigby brought in a mixture of freshman and transfer talent for her sixth season. Four true freshmen and three junior transfers join the seven returning players for the Trojans.
