TROY, Alabama – There is no better time to be a Troy Trojan, and the Troy Athletics Department is asking fans to join in celebrating Troy University and Troy Athletics with #OneTROYFriday.
Beginning Friday, July 28, Troy Athletics is asking all Trojan fans to wear their favorite Troy Trojans apparel to work, school and around town to show off their Trojan spirit. Using the hashtag #OneTROYFriday, fans are encouraged to share pictures on social media wearing their Troy gear and Troy Athletics will share the photos throughout the day on its social media accounts.
During the 2016-17 athletic year, #OneTROY embodied the championship spirit of the Troy Athletics Department as a record five teams participated in postseason play. This included the football team winning the Dollar General Bowl, men's basketball winning its first Sun Belt Tournament Championship, women's basketball winning back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championships, men's golf advancing to its third straight NCAA Regional and women's golf winning its third Sun Belt Conference Championship in the last four years.
The #OneTROY slogan was propelled onto the national stage during one of the most historic weeks in Troy Athletics as both the men's and women's basketball teams played in the NCAA Tournament on the same day. Additionally, Troy became one of only seven schools to have both its men's and women's basketball teams win their respective conference tournament titles. Fans, students, alums and donors alike rallied around both teams and the #OneTROY motto and in the process showcased to the world the power of Troy University.
