Troy Baseball Set for Pair of Mid-Week Games; $2 Tuesday vs. UAB

TROY, Alabama – Troy will host UAB Tuesday before hitting the road to face of with Jacksonville State on Wednesday in a pair of mid-week matchups with in-state foes. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. both nights; Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

Troy (18-16) will welcome UAB to Riddle-Pace Field for "$2 Tuesday" – fans will be able to purchase tickets at the gate for two dollars. Tickets can also be purchased by CLICKING HERE or by calling 877-878-WINS.

The Trojans are coming off a four-run, ninth-inning comeback victory over Georgia State Sunday. The squad narrowly avoided a sweep in the series, rallying with one-out in the ninth to take a two-run lead.

In the last four games, Troy first baseman Justin Friend has an on-base percentage of .600 and a .500 slugging percentage – walking nine times and blasting a homer over that span.

Senior righty Houston Mabray (2-1, 4.00) will answer the bell on the mound for Troy for the second Tuesday night in a row. Mabray worked four innings of one-hit shutout work against Alabama State in his last appearance.

In their meeting earlier this season, Troy defeated UAB, 4-2, at Regions Field in Birmingham. Senior Trevor Davis busted on to the scene with a three-run homer in just his third game back from an injury.

The Blazers (16-20) enter the rematch having lost 6 in a row and 12 of their last 14 contests.

Brewer Hicklen leads UAB with a .345 batting average, a .630 slugging percentage and a .404 on-base percentage. He has also smashed a team-best six home runs and has driven home 24 runs.

The Trojans will travel to Oxford, Ala., to play Jacksonville State (18-14) Wednesday night. It will be the first time the two teams have met since the Gamecocks claimed a 16-inning escapade in Troy last April.
