Troy’s Cano, Lohbauer Tabbed to All-Sun Belt First Team

TROY, Alabama – Troy women's golfers Fátima Fernández Cano and Bianca Lohbauer have been named to the All-Sun Belt Conference First Team, the league announced at the Sun Belt Championship Banquet Monday night.
This is Cano's fourth first-team All-Sun Belt honor. She was also named the Sun Belt Women's Golfer of the Year last season and the Sun Belt Women's Golf Freshman of the Year in 2014.
The All-Sun Belt honor is the second of Lohbauer's career as the sophomore earned second team honors last season.
Cano shot a 3-under 69 in Monday's opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship which is good for a tie for third place overall. She currently has a 73.35 scoring average and a +1.58 score vs. par on the year. The Santiago de Compostela, Spain, native is second in the Sun Belt in Golfstat's comparative rankings and checks in 129th nationally.
She ranks 27th nationally with a 4.77 scoring average on par 5 holes and will finish her Troy career as the school's all-time leader for lowest scoring average, while holding down four of the top six single-season scoring averages.
Lohbauer ranks third in the Sun Belt in Golfstat's comparative rankings with a 75.00 scoring average and a +3.31 score vs. par. The Paarl, South Africa, native has Troy's best scoring average in the spring with a 73.71 mark and her overall scoring average currently ranks as the fourth best in a season in school history.
She shot a 2-under 70 in opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship which places her in fifth place heading into Tuesday's second round.
Troy is in second place following the opening round of play at the Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala. The Trojans are just two shots back of defending champion Texas State; Troy will open round two beginning at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.
