TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team returns home to host a conference series against ULM on Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15. Friday's doubleheader is slated for 4 and 6 p.m. and Saturday's finale will begin at 2 p.m., at the Troy Softball Complex.
The Trojans (16, 25, 4-12 SBC) are coming off of a series loss against No. 16 UL Lafayette last weekend. Becca Hartley hit her 14th home run of the season in game one of the series. She is tied for the ninth place spot nationally and takes the second spot in the conference in home runs. Hartley leads the Trojans in batting average (.341), slugging percentage (.772), runs (36), hits (42), and RBIs (35).
ULM (26-15, 8-7 SBC) travels to Troy after five straight wins including a series sweep off Appalachian State. Sophomore Sydney McKay leads the Warhawks at the plate with a .381 average and 51 hits on the year. Melanie Coyne leads ULM in the circle with 2.01 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 25 appearances this season.
NOTEWORTHY
• Hartley is closing on the third place single season and career home run records at Troy. Her 14 home runs are just two away from Hannah Day's 16 last season, and her 37 career homer record is one shy of Heidi Johnson's 38 from 2006-09.
• Hartley is ranked 34th nationally with a slugging percentage of .772. She is second in the conference in total bases with 95.
• Troy leads the Sun Belt with 51 doubles on the season. Hartley and Stephanie Snyder lead with nine doubles each, while eight other Trojans have posted multiple doubles this year.
• Troy leads the series 22-12 all-time against ULM. The Trojans are 11-3 at home, 8-6 in Monroe, La., and 3-3 in neutral locations. Try picked up a series win against ULM last season winning the first two games of the series, but dropping the final game.
• Cassidy McDilda has reached base in four consecutive games for the Trojans, a career high and current team high.
• Madeline Porter is first in the Sun Belt and 30th in the country with 13 hit by pitches.

All youth softball players are invited to join the Trojans on the field for the National Anthem before Saturday's 2 p.m. game. Players are encouraged to wear their jerseys to the game. Meet behind the first baseline dugout to gather before going onto the field with the team.
Following Saturday's game, the Troy Softball program will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt for all children. Bags will be provided for children that participate in this event. Following the conclusion of the game, children are asked to meet behind the First Baseline Dugout in order to come onto the field for the Easter Egg Hunt.
