TROY, Alabama – Coming off its best round of the season, the Troy men's golf team travels to the Southwood Golf Course in Tallahassee, Fla., for the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State this weekend; teams will play 18 holes Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Trojans shot a 10-under 278 in the final round of the Tiger Invitational on Monday to charge up the leaderboard into second place and knock off No. 25 Kennesaw State and No. 27 Missouri in the process. Troy jumped 21 spots in the national rankings from No. 88 to No. 67 following the event; the final at-large team selected into last year's NCAA Regionals was ranked 64th.
The solid play at the Tiger Invitational carried over from the final round of the Gator Invitational in Troy's first outing of the spring. The Trojans are averaging 1-under as a team over their last four rounds.
Last year's Seminole Intercollegiate saw a rewrite of the Troy record book as Luke Moser fired a 7-under 65 to tie the school record for lowest round, while the Trojans shot 16-under as a team in the second round to also tie a school record. Troy's 19-under through the first two rounds established a new school record for the lowest team score through 36 holes.
Troy's lineup features one of the most balanced attacks in the country with four golfers separated by less than a stroke per round. Clayton Vannoy (+1.22 vs. par), Jared Bettcher (+1.28) and Cam Norman (+1.33) are all separated by just one overall stroke, while Moser (+2.17) and Calum Masters (+3.33) are close behind.

"We bounced back really well this week and played at a very high level, which we expect each time out," head coach Matt Terry said. "Now, the next step is to put two tournaments together as we continue to build our postseason resume. I am proud that each one of the guys accepted responsibility for what happened at Florida and they all responded with their play earlier this week."
