Men’s Golf in the Hunt After Day Two of Linger Longer, Norman Cards Hole-in-One

GREENSBORO, Georgia – Cam Norman fired a 5-under 67, including the first hole-in-one of his Troy career, to lead the Trojans on Monday in the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Golf Course. Troy shot even par on the day and sits in fourth place entering Tuesday's final round.
Troy is just one shot back of No. 8 Virginia and No. 56 Alabama and hold leads over No. 20 Georgia, No. 37 Michigan, No. 43 Kennesaw State and No. 45 Middle Tennessee, among others.
Norman opened his round with four birdies over his first six holes and made the turn at 2-under par. After trading a birdie for a bogey on No. 15 and 16, Norman dropped his hole-in-one on the 164-yard, par-3 No. 17 and followed with a birdie on No. 18 to close out the day with his second 67 of the year – he is tied for 16th place overall.
Luke Moser had another solid day on the course as he shot a 2-under 70 after shooting 6-under in the opening round. Moser's 136 total over 36 holes is the third lowest in Troy history; he is also responsible for the second-lowest tally with a 135 last season at the Seminole Intercollegiate. Moser is tied for third overall and just four shots off the pace.
Clayton Vannoy picked up three birdies on the day and shot a 2-over 74 to sit in a tie for 32nd place heading into the final round. Jared Bettcher shot 5-over on the day with three birdies and is tied for 41st, while Calum Masters shot 7-over and is tied for 60th place.
Troy will be paired with UNC Greensboro and Georgia for Tuesday's final round; the first threesome is scheduled to hit the course at 8:20 a.m. (CT) on the first hole.
