Trojans Continue Sun Belt Play at UT Arlington

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Troy women's basketball team has won four of its last five games and looks to continue its winning way against UT Arlington at the College Park Center on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Trojans (18-7, 11-3 Sun Belt) have won three straight in the series against UTA including an 85-68 verdict at Trojan Arena in Jan. 14. Caitlyn Ramirez and Amanda Mendoza scored 17 points each in the previous matchup while the Mavericks' leading scorer, Rebekah VanDijk was held to just a single field goal.
Ramirez has been red-hot of late scoring 12 or more points in 10 consecutive games. She was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 21.5 points and 13.0 rebounds against Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina over the weekend. Ramirez leads the conference with 9.8 rebounds per game, a total that ranks 32nd nationally.
UT Arlington (17-7, 10-4) have dropped three of its last five games and slipped to third in the conference standings, a game behind Troy. The Mavericks defeated Georgia Southern, 69-60, on Thursday before falling to Georgia State, 64-59, on Saturday in Atlanta.
