Men’s Golf Opens Spring Slate at The Gator

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's golf team opens its spring schedule this weekend as the Trojans travel to Gainesville, Fla., for the Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course. The 15-team field features nine top-50 teams and 13 top-75 teams in the latest Golfstat national rankings.
Troy enters the spring ranked 74th nationally after four fall events. The Trojans finished third at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic and tied for fifth at the FAMU Intercollegiate at The Grove for their two top finishes in the fall.
Four of Troy's five golfers in the starting lineup enter the spring with stroke averages under 74 led by seniors Clayton Vannoy (72.08) and Jared Bettcher (72.83). Vannoy reached as high as No. 32 in the national rankings during the fall and enters the spring as the top-ranked golfer in the Sun Belt Conference.
Head coach Matt Terry will also send seniors Cam Norman (73.58) and Luke Moser (73.92) along with sophomore Calum Masters (75.33) to face the loaded field at The Gator.
