Trojans Finish Indoor Regular Season

Meet Results
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Troy indoor track and field competed for the final time in the regular season Saturday at the Samford Invitational. It was the Trojans' last chance to tune up in preparation for the Sun Belt Championships.

The meet was highlighted by Niata Alexander's impressive second place finish in the 200-meter dash. Overall, there were seven top eight performances, six of which were fifth place or higher.

Underclassmen shined as A'Kasia Frazier and Alexis Garrett finished third and fifth, respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles. Also, Indiya Summerville placed fourth in the shot put and Gabrielle Henderson placed fifth in the 60-meter sprint.

Not to be outdone, the upperclassmen had great performances as Allison Taylor finished fourth in the weight throw and Carissa Madson pole vaulted her way to a seventh place finish.

The 4x400-meter relay team finished third with a 3:51.20-second time, which is a team season best.
