Trojans Overwhelmed by Green Wave

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Kolby Morgan scored 32 points leading Tulane to a 106-75 victory over Troy on Thursday in Fogelman Arena to open the 22nd Tulane Classic.
Morgan and the Green Wave came red-hot and opened a 20-point lead in the first quarter with the senior guard hitting 3-of-4 shots from beyond the arc in the opening 10 minutes. Morgan finished the game 13-of-21 from the field and 5-of-10 from range. She was two assists and two rebounds shy of the program's first ever triple-double.
Tulane (7-5) eclipsed 100 points for the first time since 2008 racking up 29 assists in the process – tied for fourth-most in school history. The Green Wave entered the game averaging 63.3 points per game. The Trojans have failed to scored 80 points in three consecutive games after leading the nation with 94.0 points per contest two weeks ago.
Troy (5-5) fired 85 shots in the game, but converted just 29 to shoot 34 percent, the Trojans were 6-of-29 from 3-point range. With 12 boards, Amahni Upshaw turned in double-digit rebounds for the third time in the last four games.

The Trojans look to snap a three-game skid against either Samford or UTEP at 1 p.m. on Friday, the final day of the Tulane Classic. Troy fell to Samford, 80-73, on Sunday, while the Trojans and UTEP have never met.
