Troy Set For Hurricane Relief Exhibition At Mercer

MACON, Ga. – The preseason will come to a close on Sunday as Troy heads off to face Mercer at 2 p.m. in Hawkins Arena to help raise proceeds to benefit hurricane relief efforts.

Admission to the event will be free with attendees encouraged to make a donation to the Salvation Army to assist in their efforts to help the victims affected by the hurricanes that ravaged Florida and Texas.

The Salvation Army is working to help distribute thousands of meals every hour and shelter those who have been impacted by the storms. There are currently 100 mobile feeding kitchens from the Salvation Army working tirelessly to aid those in need.

Contributions to tomorrow's game will go directly to those in need of assistance. Fans who are unable to attend the game can still contribute by visiting www.helpsalvationarmy.org or by calling 800-SAL-ARMY.

Mercer returns all five starters to a team that won 15 games and placed sixth in the Southern Conference this past season. The Bears are led by Bob Hoffman, who has compiled a 179-130 records in nine season at Mercer.

Troy's regular season kicks off against North Dakota on Thursday as the Trojans travel to Honolulu, Hawai'I to compete in the Rainbow Classic. The home opener will be Nov. 16 against Brewtown Parker at 7 p.m.
