Troy Takes On Georgia State Thursday Night

TROY, Alabama – Coming off a gritty 1-0 win over Little Rock last week, Troy looks to make it two victories in a row as Georgia State comes to town for a Thursday Sun Belt Conference showdown set for 7 p.m. at the Troy Soccer Complex.

The Trojans (5-8-2, 3-3 Sun Belt) got a goal from sophomore Julia Winter in the 49th minute off a corner from Kiersten Edlund. Troy was then forced to protect the lead with just 10 players for the final 30 minutes of the match.

Georgia State (3-8-1, 1-4-1) has dropped six of its last nine matches with a win and draw in mix. Yvonne Ploeg paces the squad with three goals as the Panthers have struggled to score consistently ranking 10th in the 11-team league with four goals in conference play.
