Troy Takes On Georgia State Thursday Night

TROY, Alabama – Coming off a gritty 1-0 win over Little Rock last week, Troy looks to make it two victories in a row as Georgia State comes to town for a Thursday Sun Belt Conference showdown set for 7 p.m. at the Troy Soccer Complex.

The Trojans (5-8-2, 3-3 Sun Belt) got a goal from sophomore Julia Winter in the 49^th minute off a corner from Kiersten Edlund. Troy was then forced to protect the lead with just 10 players for the final 30 minutes of the match.

Georgia State (3-8-1, 1-4-1) has dropped six of its last nine matches with a win and draw in mix. Yvonne Ploeg paces the squad with three goals as the Panthers have struggled to score consistently ranking 10^th in the 11-team league with four goals in conference play.

Troy's defense allowed its opponent very few opportunities as the Panthers managed just five shots in the game, while the Trojans produced 16 shots and nine corners.
