BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Trojans finished a demanding, yet successful, weekend on Sunday as they completed competition in the KMS Invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Â
The Trojans competed and solidified some slots on the women's side in preparation for the Sun Belt Championship. Meanwhile, this was a good opportunity for the men to gain more experience for the upcoming outdoor season.
Â
The most impressive performance of the meet was by Caleb Brown, who finished third in the weight throw competition with a 15.93-meter toss.
Â
Underclassmen shined, highlighted by impressive performances by freshmen Alexis Garrett and Kewin Delis. Garrett finished 10th in the 60-meter hurdles and eighth in the high jump, both of which were personal bests. Also, Delis finished with a personal best in the 200-meter dash in just his second collegiate meet.
Â
Overall, there were 11 top 15 finishes by the Trojans. Daniel Glick placed seventh in the mile run and John Webb finished 10th in the 800-meter dash.
Â
The Trojans will be back at the Birmingham CrossPlex Sunday to compete in the Jaguar Invitational, hosted by in-state rival South Alabama.
