EUGENE, Oregon – Troy sophomore Jaevyn Wortham is set to compete in the NCAA Championships, which begin on Wednesday and end on Saturday.
Â
The NCAA Championships can be seen live on ESPN3 via WATCHESPN. Live stats will also available at NCAA.com.
Â
"We are excited to see Jaevyn compete," Marc Davis said. "She has stepped up once again to achieve one of her goals to make this championship. Now that she's here, she has to realize that she is one of the best the country has to offer, and step up once again."
Â
Wortham is set to compete in the discus competition, which will take place on Saturday at 5:05 CT.
"This is another amazing opportunity for this young lady to rise to the occasion," assistant coach of throws Michelle Clayton said. "USA Junior nationals last year really gave her the experience and confidence to compete at the highest level. Jaevyn has prepared well and all of us are very excited as she prepares to compete at NCAAs."
Â
After a 52.96-meter discuss toss in the NCAA East Preliminaries, Wortham finished in eighth place with the top 12 throws advancing. The throw gave Troy its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships.
