Troy Hosts Four Matches on Senior Day

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's tennis team will host four matches on Sunday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex and will also honor its two seniors. Daniel Bustamante and Giovani Samaha will be honored in a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.

Troy will host South Alabama at 10 a.m., Florida A&M at 12 p.m., No. 51 Georgia State at 3 p.m. and Alabama State at 5:30 p.m. The matches will be the final four of the regular season for Troy with the Sun Belt Championships starting on Thursday, April 21 in New Orleans.

Troy (14-11, 1-1) has won four straight matches and 10 of its last 11 after beating both Alabama A&M and Jacksonville State on Wednesday at home.

Bustamante has posted an 8-8 record for the Trojans in singles play this spring, mostly at No. 1, with seven of the eight losses coming to ranked opponents. Samaha is 10-8 this spring in singles play and 18-11 over the entire year. Pablo Moreno and Mustapha Belcora have the Trojans' top singles records this spring at 13-5 and 11-4, respectively.

South Alabama (12-11, 0-1) has lost four straight matches, including at home to No. 50 Old Dominion last weekend. The Jaguars lone match against a Sun Belt opponent was a 6-1 loss to Georgia State two weeks ago.

Georgia State (15-4, 2-0) has won six straight matches and is ranked No. 51 in the ITA National Team Rankings. The Panthers won at Presbyterian and College of Charleston last weekend, that just a week after winning the MT Shootout.

Florida A&M (7-9) has won four of its last five matches with all four wins coming in MEAC play. Alabama State (6-8) lost its most recent match, last weekend at home against Mercer.
