Troy Travels to ULM to Continue Conference-Play

MONROE, Louisiana – The Troy softball team hits the road to travel to Monroe, La., for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against ULM at the ULM Softball Complex with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and the series finale on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Troy (23-13) is looking to bounce back after losses to a pair of SEC foes in South Carolina and Auburn. The Gamecocks swept a two-game series last weekend with scores of 8-0 and 10-7, while third-ranked Tigers defeated Troy, 8-1, on Wednesday night.

The Trojans have four players batting over .300 led by senior Kate Benton, who is batting .440 with 51 hits and 38 runs scored. Benton currently leads the Sun Belt in stolen bases with 29 on 32 attempts and is 10th in the nation in stolen bases per game with 0.81.

Hannah Day leads the team in home runs (14), doubles (8), slugging percentage (.810) and total bases (94). She is currently second in the nation in RBIs (52), third in RBIs per game (1.44), seventh in home runs (14) and 10th in home runs per game (0.39).

Erica Davis continues to be consistent at the plate for the Trojans. She is batting .330 with 35 runs scored on 31 hits and has launched five long balls out of the park. Davis has recorded 26 RBIs and is a perfect on her nine stolen base attempts.

Freshman Claire Graves (5-2) is making a name for herself in the circle for Troy. After an impressive performance at Auburn, she heads into the weekend with a 3.44 ERA with 31 strikeouts and has given up only 31 earned runs.

ULM (19-21) is coming into the weekend off a 3-2 win over Louisiana Tech on Wednesday at the ULM Softball Complex. The Warhawks are offensively by Rochelle Roberts, who is batting .500 with 17 RBIs. Roberts has recorded 63 hits with nine doubles, five triples and five homers.

The Trojans lead the all-time series with ULM, 20-11. Troy swept the series against the Warhawks last April when they traveled to the Troy Softball Complex.
