Troy Women’s Tennis’ Ferrauti Earns Sun Belt Honor

NEW ORLEANS – Troy women's tennis freshman Luisa Ferrauti has been named the Sun Belt Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Ferrauti dominated her singles match in the Trojans' lone contest last week, beating No. 57 Florida State's Kathryn Phillips, 6-0, 6-1. The Bruehl, Germany, native was the lone player in the Troy singles lineup to win in the 4-2 loss to the Seminoles.
As a true freshman, Ferrauti is now 17-12 on the season overall and 9-8 in singles matches this spring.
She and the Trojans return to the court on Friday when they open the Sun Belt Championships as the No. 5 seed against No. 4 seed Georgia Southern at 8 a.m. in New Orleans.
