Troy Concludes Homestand Against Jacksonville State on Trivia Tuesday

TROY, Alabama - The Troy baseball team will wrap up its nine-game homestand with a Trivia Tuesday night matchup against Jacksonville State with the first pitch set to begin at 6 p.m. The first 500 fans will receive a free "Whup Jax State" t-shirt.
Barry McKnight and Jerry Miller will be broadcasting the game live amongst the fans behind the left field fence. Fans can hear the broadcast live at 94.7 FM or TroyTrojans.com. The game can also be seen live at TroyTrojans.com.
Troy (20-13) has extended its winning streak to six games and looks to make it seven on Tuesday night. The Trojans have gone 7-1 during the stretch of home games and have hit 22 doubles, three triples and eight home runs.
TJ Binder and Justin Friend combined for 17 hits, six doubles and 12 RBIs during the homestand. Binder has 12 hits, three doubles and three home runs with eight of the 12 RBIs. Friend has a .556 batting average and a .889 slugging percentage, with three doubles and four RBIs.
Three other Trojans have an average above .300 during the eight game stretch. Trevor Davis is batting .344 with three doubles, one home run and six RBIs. Cameron Sanders and Joey Denison are the others hitting over .300 and both have six RBIs each. Sanders has three doubles with one home run and a .333 average, while Denison has two home runs, two doubles and one triple with a .323 batting average.
Evan Hebert will toe the rubber for the Trojans. He picked up a win in his last Tuesday night outing. He pitched four innings and struck out two and only allowed two runs.
Jacksonville State (21-10) last faced the Trojans on March 9 and suffered a 10-0 loss. Since that game the Gamecocks have gone 15-5 and 11-1 in the OVC. Clayton Daniel leads the team with a .404 batting average with 10 doubles, one triple and home run and 29 RBIs.
Gamecock Josh Bobo is the reigning player of the week in the OVC after driving in 10 runs in a weekend series against Murray State. He went 5-for-6 with three home runs, a double and eight RBIs in one Saturday's game.
The Trojans and Gamecocks have met 138 times and Troy holds an 82-56 all-time series. Troy won the last meeting earlier this year in Jacksonville. The Trojans have a 43-26 edge when playing at Riddle-Pace Field.
