Troy Basketball Hosts Fan Day on Saturday

TROY, Alabama – Fans will get the opportunity to meet the men's and women's basketball teams as Troy will be hosting fan day on Saturday from 1-2:15 p.m.

The event will be held on Tailgate Terrace prior to the football game against UMass. The teams will be taking pictures with fans, signing autographs and giving away posters.

Both teams are a week away from the start of the regular season. The men's team opens with a home game against Toccoa Falls on Nov. 11 and the women's team opens on the same day on the road against Auburn.

In exhibition matchups the past week, the men's team defeated AUM 84-65 and the women fell at home against Brazillian team Uninassau, 92-71.

The women's team is picked to finish first in the conference a year after they took home the Sun Belt Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Welsey Person and Jordon Varnado were both picked to the All-Sun Belt preseason team. The men were picked to finish ninth in the conference as Person earned second team honors and Varnado grabbed a spot on the third team.
