Trojans Host UNINASSAU in Exhibition

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's basketball team will host UNINASSAU, a Brazilian club team, in an exhibition game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Trojan Arena. Admission is FREE.
The Trojans were picked to win the Sun Belt Conference in the preseason by the league's coaches. Troy won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history. The squad finished the season 20-13, it's second straight 20-win campaign.
Under head coach Chanda Rigby, the Trojans have led the league in scoring four consecutive seasons and have eclipsed to 100-point plateau 12 times.
Preseason All-Sun Belt forward Caitlyn Ramirez returns for her senior season after averaging 11.9 points and seven rebounds per game last year. She scored in double-digits 23 times and posted over 20 points three times.
Also returning is Preseason All-Sun Belt selection ArJae' Saunders. The Washington, D.C., native averaged 12.4 points, which was 10th-best in the league. She scored 20-plus points in seven games including a game-high 21 against Little Rock in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship game.
NOTEWORTHY
• Troy forced opponents into 21.7 turnovers per game last season, best in the Sun Belt.
• The Trojans ranked 18th in the nation and first in the conference with 10.4 steals per game.
• In Chanda Rigby's four seasons, Troy has forced 64 opponents in to 20-plus turnovers and 14 into 30-plus turnovers.
• For the fourth straight season, Troy's faced-paced offence led the Sun belt in scoring as the Trojans averaged 80.2 points per game, an average that ranked seventh in the NCAA.
• In four seasons under Rigby, the Trojans have now scored 80-plus points in 56 games.
