Hannah Seizer Takes Third at Georgia Southern Invitational

STATESBORO, Georgia - The Troy women's tennis team wrapped up the weekend at the Georgia Southern Invitational Sunday in the first fall meet of the season.
The competition started on Friday with a 6-1 win in doubles by duo Luisa Ferrauti and Alicia Rodriguez over University of North Carolina Asheville's (UNCA) Madeline Finley and Caroline Sherrer. The pair advanced to face Savannah College of Art and Design's (SCAD) Camille Gbaguidi and Paige Murdock on Saturday, but fell short of the win. Ferrauti and Rodriguez bounced back to defeat Georgia Southern 7-5 in a consolation draw.
In singles pay, sophomore Hannah Seizer finished third in the tournament picking up a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win Friday morning against Valerie Droop of SCAD before falling to Giulia Reipe of Georgia Southern in the semifinals on Saturday. In the third place match on Sunday, Seizer defeated Kylee Shipley of UNCA 6-3, 6-2.
Ferrauti also picked up a win on Friday defeating Christin Louw of UNCA 6-4, 6-2, and advanced to face Arianne De Winter of Georgia Southern on Friday. Ferrauti came up short in the third set falling to De Winter 7-6.
Rodriguez also advanced on Friday after defeating Cait Schultz of SCAD 6-1, 6-0. Rodriguez fell short of the semifinal match, but won her consolation match 6-1, 6-2 on Sunday.
