Chelsey Williams Claims Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week

TROY, Alabama – Troy has claimed back-to-back offensive player of the week as Chelsey Williams was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Williams had a three-goal performance in a 4-0 win over Austin Peay on Friday. The hat trick was the first from a Trojan player since 2010.

"We moved Chelsey up top and it paid off. She has a knack for scoring goals and we wanted to get her more opportunities in and around the box," Jason Hamilton said. "All three goals were effortless for her and you can see why she is the all time scorer in program history after a game like that."

The Panama City, Fla., native took two shots in a 1-0 loss to South Florida, with one landing on goal.
