Troy Soccer Honored with NSCAA Team Academic Award

TROY, Alabama – The Troy soccer team was honored with the 2014-2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award on Friday.
The NSCAA Team Academic Award goes to all teams that have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Troy University has won this award nine out of the last 10 years.
"It is important to us to have success in classroom as well as on the field," Jason Hamilton said. "We want to represent the athletics department and the university as role models to all of the students here at Troy."
Troy had a 3.36 team GPA for the 2014-2015 academic year and is one of eight Sun Belt schools to earn the award.
The Trojans finished 2014 with a 16-6 overall record, best in program history. The team made it to the Sun Belt Conference championship game, which was its highest postseason finish. Troy's season ended with 21 individual and team records falling, including the school's wins, shutouts and shots records as well as the single-season and single-game attendance records.
