Women’s Golf in 11th Heading into Final Round of Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Troy women's golf team is in 11th place heading into the final round of the season-opening Schooner Fall Classic at the Belmar Golf Club.
The tournament opened with 18 holes on Saturday, but Sunday's round was canceled due to inclement weather; the event will wrap up with 18 holes on Monday. Troy will start on the back nine at 8:30 a.m. and will be pared with Florida State and Tulsa.
Freshman Lindsey Harrison and junior Fátima Fernández Cano paced the Trojans in the opening round with a matching 2-over-par 73. Harrison had a pair of birdies in her first collegiate round, while Cano had three birdies in the opening round. The pair is tied for 27th heading into Monday's final round.
Junior Gabi Oubre is tied for 50th place after shooting an 8-over 79, while junior Becca Horner and freshman Bianca Lohbauer are tied for 56th place following an opening round 79.
No. 9 Oklahoma State holds a seven-stroke lead over Mississippi State heading into the final round. The 12-team field features seven teams who qualified for the NCAA Regionals last year.
