Women’s Golf Slips to 12th at Sun Belt Championship

POINT CLEAR, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team dropped four spots on Tuesday into 12^th place following the second round of the Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship, held on the Dogwood Course at the Lakewood Golf Course.

Manya Saini had another solid day for the Trojans, carding a pair of birdies en route to a round of 3-over and a fifth-place standing heading into Wednesday's final round. She birdied the par-4 14^th and again on the par-5 16^th. Saini is tied for fourth in the field with eight total birdies over the opening 36 holes of the tournament and is tied for first with a combined 1-under on the par 3s.

Mathilda Ringblom climbed five spots into a tie for 37^th place after matching Saini's 75 on Tuesday, as she birdied the eighth and 16^th, while Constana Quiroga climbed six spots into a tie for 44^th place after a 4-over 76, thanks to a birdie on No. 1.

ULM surged into the lead as the Warhawks shot 4-over to grab a 7-shot advantage over App State, which slipped back to second in a tie with Texas State after shooting 14-over in the second round. Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina are tied for the crucial fourth spot at 18-over (seven shots back of second), while South Alabama is two shots back in sixth.

Troy shot 21-over in Tuesday's second round and sits 38-over for the tournament, 20 shots back of fourth.

Victoria Stutts shot 83 on Tuesday to slip into a tie for 57^th place and Laura Fangmeyer shot 86 and is in 61^st place.

Troy will play with Marshall in Wednesday's final round, beginning at 9:21 a.m. from the 10^th tee.
