Troy Leads Sun Belt with Seven on TopDrawerSoccer.com Conference Top 20

TROY, Alabama – TopDrawerSoccer.com released its annual Conference Top 20 lists on Wednesday with Troy having a league-best seven players named among the Sun Belt's top 20 players.

All four of Troy's preseason All-Sun Belt selections landed in the top 10. Alissa Jones came in at No. 4, which is the highest of Troy's players. Mikki Lewis, Payton Donley and Jasmine Fahrnbauer came in at No. 8, No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

Jones, a first team All-Sun Belt selection last year, finished as the Trojans' offensive leader with 12 goals and 10 assists, which ranked second and first in the conference. She already ranks fourth in Troy history in career goals and assists.

Lewis who was named second team All-Sun Belt last year, started in all 22 games as a freshman. She set three individual Troy single-season records with 16 wins, 0.81 goals against average (GAA) and 11 shutouts. She led the conference in GAA and shutouts last season, and was fourth in saves with 67.

Donley, who was also named second team All-Sun Belt last season, played every minute of every game. She helped the Trojan defense record 13 shutouts, which ranked first in the Sun Belt and set a Troy single-season record.

Fahrnbauer started all 22 games for the Trojans last year and tallied three goals and five assists with 16 shots on goal.

The three remaining players in the top 20 were senior forward Chelsey Williams (No. 13), sophomore defender Layna Hatfield (No. 19) and sophomore forward Natalie Melillo (No. 20).

The Trojans begin the regular season on Friday against Gardner-Webb at the Troy Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
