Troy Concludes Regular Season, Hosts No. 22 South Alabama

TROY, Alabama – The Troy softball team will conclude its regular season with a showdown against No. 22 South Alabama at the Troy Softball Complex. There will be a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and the series finale will be on Sunday at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear white to Saturday's doubleheader and the first 150 fans in attendance will receive a free whiteout t-shirt.

The Trojans (31-20, 13-7 Sun Belt) are led by Hannah Day, who is batting .327 with 11 doubles, three triples, six home runs and 40 RBIs. The three triples and 40 RBIs are tied for tops on the team.

Jaycee Affeldt leads the Troy pitching staff with a 2.51 ERA, which is fifth in the Sun Belt. Affeldt also has made 40 appearances this season in the circle, which is second most in the conference. Affeldt leads the Trojans with 134 strikeouts this season in 164.1 innings pitched.

Becca Hartley has 10 home runs this season, which is the most on the team. Troy has blasted 49 long balls this year, setting a new single-season home run record. Khadija Neely's 12 doubles leads the team. The Trojans have hit 68 doubles this season, which is the third most in the conference and two more than the Jaguars.

Troy is 16-5 at home this season and posts an 8-0 record when facing Sun Belt Conference opponents in the friendly confines of the Troy Softball Complex.

A trio of pitchers, Kalen McGill, Farish Beard and Devin Brown, leads the Jaguars in the circle. McGill has a 2.07 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 101.2 innings of work. McGill also has four saves on the season and two complete games. Beard has 87 strikeouts in 71 innings of work. Brown has a 3.22 ERA and a team-high 151 strikeouts in 89 innings.

Chloe Rathburn leads South Alabama offensively with a .395 batting average with 12 doubles, four home runs and a team-high 48 RBIs. Rathburn is slugging .581 and has drawn 19 walks this year.
