Troy Women Earn No. 6 Seed at Sun Belt Championships

NEW ORLEANS – The Troy women's tennis team has earned the No. 6 seed at the upcoming Sun Belt Championships, the league office announced on Tuesday. The 10-team tournament begins with first round matches on Thursday at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center in New Orleans.
With the No. 6 seed, the Trojans receive a first-round bye and will play in the Thursday's quarterfinals. Troy will take on No. 3 seed UT Arlington at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Troy (10-8) enters the tournament having won three straight matches. The Trojans advanced to the semifinals of last year's tournament before falling to eventual champion Georgia State.
The Trojans and Panthers are again on the same side of the bracket as Georgia State is the tournament's No. 2 seed and a potential semifinal opponent. South Alabama is the tournament's No. 1 seed.
