Troy Baseball Hosts UALR in Sun Belt Conference Tilt

TROY, Alabama – The Troy University baseball team will host UALR for a three-game, Sun Belt Conference series over the weekend at Riddle-Pace Field. The games on Friday and Saturday are set for 6 p.m. starts, while Sunday's finale is slated for 1 p.m. Live video, audio and stats will stream live on TroyTrojans.com and WTBF 94.7 FM will carry the radio broadcast.

Troy (9-11, 2-4 Sun Belt) took two-of-three game from Georgia Southern last weekend and were propelled by the pitching performance of junior Grant Bennett, who took a perfect game into the eighth. Bennett (3-1, 2.10) has served has the Trojans Saturday starter so far this season but will take the ball to kick off the series on Friday this week. The right-hander from Hazel Green, Alabama, leads the conference with 35 strikeouts this season. UALR will counter with junior left-hander Jarrid Garcia (0-0, 0.96).

Corey Childress (2-1, 4.25) will square off against RHP Corey Malcom (2-1, 2.70) on Saturday while Lucas Brown (1-0, 1.64) will face RHP Sam Thoele (1-2, 5.40) on Sunday.

UALR (6-9, 3-2) fell to Missouri State in its lone midweek contest. Despite having the lowest average and highest ERA in the Sun Belt, UALR took two games from UL Lafayette last weekend.

Senior first baseman Trevin Hall paces the Trojans offense with a .400 batting average. He also leads the team in doubles (6), slugging percentage (.643) and is tied with Logan Hill with a team-high three home runs.

Troy leads the all-time series against UALR 15-8 including a 10-2 mark at Riddle-Pace Field.
