Women’s Golf in Contention Following Opening Round of Jaguar Intercollegiate

AUGUSTA, Georgia – Sydney Conrad shot an opening round 2-over to lead the Troy women's golf team on day one of the 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate on Friday at the Forest Hills Golf Club. The Trojans shot a 20-over 304 and sit in sixth place.
Golfers drew a tough course Friday as the average score on the day was a 78.5 on the par 71 track. Kennesaw State shot 12-over and holds a two-shot lead over GRU Augusta, Furman and Coastal Carolina.
On a day when bogeys were the norm, Conrad played a fairly clean round as she had just two bogeys on her card to go along with 16 pars. Becca Horner picked up birdies on each side of the turn and finished the day 5-over, while Fátima Fernández Cano carded a birdie on No. 17 to finish her day at 5-over and tied with Horner for 16th place.
Taylor McGraw is tied for 39th place overall after shooting an 8-over 79 and Langley Vannoy carded a 9-over 80 and is tied for 47th place. The Trojans will tee off at 8:50 (CDT) Saturday along with Chattanooga and Coastal Carolina in the second round.
