Trojans Compete at MTSU Invitational

MURPHREESBORO, Tennessee– The Troy track and field team had several highlight performances at the Middle Tennessee State University Invitational on Saturday. The Trojans left the meet with a first place finish and several runner-up performances.

Zach Douglas participated in the shot put and weight throw for the men's team. Douglas won the shot put competition with a 14.74-meter throw and placed fourth in the weight throw with a 14.52-meter showing.

Allison Taylor brought home the top women's finish in field events, bring home second place in the weight throw with a 16.02-meter throw.

Myles Charley placed third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump for the Trojans.
Â
Sydney Wright set a new personal best in the women's 200-meter run, placing fifth with a 25.39 second run. Wright also placed second in the 55-meter dash, finishing in 7.31-seconds.

In the women's 300-meter run, Julia Ostendorf placed third completing in 10:18:18, a new season best. Samantha Smith and Kristina Bokenfohr followed behind Ostendorf with times of 10:51.54 and 11:19.19, respectively.

The Trojan men's sprinters finished with several impressive performances. Issac Jennings was the runner-up in the 55-meter dash. Zach Calhoun placed fourth with an 8.06 second run and Douglas Douglas Dyer finished in 8.22 seconds for a fifth place finish in the men's 55-meter hurdle.

Troy wrapped up the day with second place finishes in both the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay competition.

The Trojans will be back at it again next weekend at the Samford Multi and Invitational at the Birmingham Crossplex.
