Â
The Trojans second game of the day, against host Stetson, was canceled. Troy and Stetson will meet in the Stetson Invitation championship game at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Â
Amanda Winters hit a two-out, walk-off single with the bases loaded to score the winning run as part of a three run inning in the bottom of the seventh for Troy. The single was Winters' second walk-off hit of the season, as she previously did so against UConn on February 21.
Â
Troy (12-7) tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on a throwing error by the Raider third baseman that scored Khadija Kneely and Chelsea Eytel, who both reached on walks. Kate Benton, who reached on the error ended up at third. Hannah Day walked and Michelle Phelps loaded the bases after being hit by a pitch before Winters came up to win the game for the Trojans.
Â
Colgate (0-3) scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Mariel Schlaefer singled down the left field line to start the inning and stole second. Alessandra Moore singled to center field to score the first run of the game. Immediately following, Holly Grennan hit a two-run home run to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead.
Â
The Trojans bounced back and scored a run in the bottom of the fourth on a Benton single up the middle to score pinch runner Allison Moore, to cut the deficit to two runs.
Â
Jaycee Affeldt (6-2) picked up the win after entering in relief for Sara Mock who got the start. Affeldt pitched two innings and only gave up two hits and struck out one. Mock pitched five innings, allowed three earned runs and gave up six hits and struck out three.
