Women's Golf Wraps Up Play at FSU Match-Up

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – The Troy women's golf team improved for the third straight day and wrapped up the FSU Match-Up in 11th place Sunday at the Southwood Golf Club in its opening tournament of the spring.
Fátima Fernández Cano led the Trojans during the final round as she sank a pair of birdies and played the round at 1-over par. Cano finished the tournament tied for 32nd place; the field included six top-40 teams and 10 that are ranked in the top 70.
Langley Vannoy, Sydney Conrad and Taylor McGraw all finished tied for 54th. Vannoy and Conrad both shot a 5-over 77 on Sunday, while McGraw closed out her tournament with an 81. Becca Horner rounded out the field for the Trojans as she finished tied for 64th after shooting an 83 in the final round.
Furman rallied up the leaderboard Sunday to claim the team title by seven strokes over Mississippi State and South Carolina.
The Trojans return to the links Feb. 23-24 at the USA Women's Invitational in Mobile, Ala.
