Troy Football Sets Spring Practice Dates

TROY, Alabama – Troy football head coach Neal Brown announced Friday the dates for Troy's spring practice. The Trojans will open the spring on March 24 and will practice three times a week culminating with T-Day at noon at Saturday, April 25.

The Trojans will practice Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week, with a couple of minor alterations towards the end of the practice schedule. Practices will be open to the public and will take place both in Veterans Memorial Stadium and on the grass practice fields adjacent to Trojan Arena; practice times will be announced at a later date.

Troy returns six players who earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors last season, including NCAA record setting quarterback Brandon Silvers. The Orange Beach, Ala., native set the NCAA record for completion percentage by a freshman after he completed 70.5 percent of his attempts last year. His mark bested former Oklahoma and current St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford's 69.5 percentage set in 2007.

Also back for the Trojans in 2015 will be All-Sun Belt safety Montres Kitchens, defensive end Tyler Roberts, running back Brandon Burks and wide receiver Bryan Holmes. Troy closed out the 2014 season with victories in two of its final three games and averaged 33.0 points per game in those contests.

Troy opens its inaugural season under Brown at North Carolina State on Sept. 5. The Trojans' home opener for the 2015 season is set for Sept. 12 against Charleston Southern.
