Troy Soccer Tabs Five on All-Sun Belt Teams

ATLANTA, Georgia – The Troy soccer team had five players with All-Sun Belt honors the Sun Belt Conference announced at its annual banquet on Tuesday night. It is the second straight year that five players were named all-conference which ties a school record.
Sophomore goalkeeper Mikki Lewis and senior midfielder Alissa Jones were named to first team, while senior forward Chelsey Williams, senior midfielder Jasmine Fahrnbauer and sophomore Haley Roberson were named to second team.
"It's great to have five players recognized by the leagues coaches," Jason Hamilton said. "This year has really been a team effort and we will celebrate these achievements together."
Lewis is on pace to set a single-season school record with a 0.65 goals against average. She also has a .868 save percentage which is the second best in school history. The St. Johns, Fla., native also has 11 wins and a conference-high eight shutouts.
Jones has six goals, which is tied for the most on the team and four assists this season for a total of 16 points. She set a single-season record for shots on goal with 41 and is second on the single-season shot list with 80. This is the second consecutive season that Jones was named All-Sun Belt First Team.
Williams leads the team with 17 points and five assists this season. She has two game-winning goals and recorded a hat trick on September 4 in a 4-0 win over Austin Peay. The Panama City, Fla., native was the first player to record a hat trick for the Trojans since 2010.
Fahrnbauer leads the team with 1,532 minutes played and has scored one goal and assisted with three. She has notched five points this season and has one game-winning goal. The Canton, Ga., native assisted the game-winner in a 1-0 victory at Georgia Southern.
Roberson has four points this season including one goal and three assists. She is the lone newcomer that made an all-conference team for the Trojans and assisted the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against Arkansas State. The Burke, Va., native has helped lead a defense that has only allowed 163 shots in 18 games and only given up 12 goals all season.
