Men’s Golf Heads to AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's golf team returns to the links this week for the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Ga.
The 14-team field will play 36 holes on Monday with the final 18 on Tuesday. Two top 50 teams are in the field with eight teams ranked in the top 100 in the latest Golfweek rankings; Troy is currently ranked 75th nationally.
The tournament is Troy's first since playing six rounds over four days at the Sun Belt Preview and the Shoal Creek Invitational back on Sept. 26-29. The Trojans won the Sun Belt Preview, which featured 10 of the 11 league teams on the course that will host the Sun Belt Championship in April.
Troy shot a school-record 270 in the second round of the Sun Belt Preview thanks to four rounds in the 60s and five under par. The Trojans already have eight rounds in the 60s and 12 under par through the opening three tournaments of the season.
Luke Moser leads the Trojans with a 72.33 stroke average, three rounds in the 60s and four rounds under par. He finished second at the Sun Belt Preview and tied for 16th to open the season at The Invitational at The Ocean Course.
Jared Bettcher is the lone Trojan to have all his cards count towards the team score and is second on the team with a 72.77 stroke average. Clayton Vannoy has the lowest round of the year by a Troy golfer with his 5-under 66 in the second round of the Sun Belt Preview and he is third overall with a 74.00 stroke average.
Cam Norman has been Troy's best starter with a 73.33 stroke average in the opening round of the Trojans' three tournaments and he will carry a 74.33 average into the AutoTrader. Calum Masters will round out the field for the Trojans with a 77.89 average and a low round of 71 on the year. Sean Stone will play as an individual in the event and enters with an 80.17 average.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. Troy will play in a foursome with South Alabama, Middle Tennessee and UNC Greensboro.
