ATHENS, Georgia โ No. 13 Georgia jumped out to a 45-0 halftime lead en route to a 66-0 victory over Troy Saturday afternoon at Sanford Stadium.

"You can try all of your psychology or whatever to get through this but what it boils down to is the leadership on the team and on the coaching staff to see if we can over something like this," Troy head coach Larry Blakeney said. "We need to get into trying to be winners in our conference and try to get back to a championship level in our conference. Those guys are pretty resilient most of the time, but we've taken four in a row and it's not been fun. I don't want to forget how it feels to win games."

Dontreal Pruitt made his first career start at quarterback for Troy in place of injured Brandon Silvers and marched the Trojans down to the Bulldogs' 9-yard line on the opening drive. Pruitt used a pair of big third-down passes โ a 25-yard strike to Chandler Worthy and a 19-yard completion to Kinderick Dent โ to set up a 26-yard field goal, which was unsuccessful.

Pruitt finished 16-of-27 for 158 yards and rushed for 17 yards on four carries (officially finished with negative one rushing yards after a pair of sacks). Tommy Blevins led the Trojans with 40 yards on a pair of catches; he became the first Troy tight end with multiple catches in a game since Jim Teknipp in 2011. Jordan Chunn rushed for 20 yards on six carries to lead the ground game.

"I feel like we have got to take advantage when we get down to the red zone. We've got to try and punch it in no matter who it is, whether that's Georgia, or next week at ULM, we've got to be able to punch that ball in right there," Pruitt said. "They were a great team that made adjustments and we didn't capitalize."

Georgia (2-1) scored on its first seven possessions of the game and returned a punt for a score. Sony Michel led the Bulldogs on the ground with 155 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Todd Gurley rushed for 73 yards on six carries. Georgia rushed for 367 yards on 39 carries.

Hutson Mason threw a pair of touchdowns for the Bulldogs while Brice Ramsey had one touchdown pass and Faton Bauta rushed for a pair of scores in the fourth quarter. Georgia outgained Troy 547-216 on the afternoon.

Troy (0-4) was kept off scoreboard for the first time since Sept. 23, 2006, in a 56-0 loss at Nebraska. It snapped a streak of 99 games with a point for the Trojans.

Troy opens Sun Belt Conference play next Saturday at ULM (2-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
