Men’s Golf and Women’s Track & Field Earn Sun Belt Team Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS – Troy University's men's golf and women's track & field teams were awarded the Sun Belt Conference Team Academic Award for having the highest team grade-point average in their respective sport for the 2013-14 academic year.

"We are extremely proud of their accomplishments in the classroom," Athletic Director John Hartwell said. "The number one function of our student-athletes is to be a student first and certainly these young men and women have taken that responsibility seriously. We look forward to their continued success in the classroom, on the field of play and in the game of life."

Troy was one of just five schools in the conference to have multiple teams recognized for their academic excellence. The men's golf team finished with a 3.49 GPA and the women's track & field team posted a 3.35 GPA.
