Troy Soccer Wraps Up First Week of Training with Successful Scrimmage

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University soccer team concluded its first week of training with a successful scrimmage on Saturday at the Troy Soccer Complex.
The Trojans return 16 players and feel they are transitioning well under first year head coach Jason Hamilton.
"It's been a hard week, we got a lot of touches on the ball," Hamilton said. "We opened up today with a full field scrimmage. It was good to see some of the players in a bigger space and see what they can bring to this team."
Junior Jasmine Fahrnbauer, who led the team with four assists last season, says the team has simply enjoyed being back out on the field and learning Hamilton's system.
"There's a lot of good stuff out there. We're working really hard, a lot of communication, a lot of movement," she said. "We're really working off the ball well. We've just got to keep moving forward and setting goals for each other."
The team will take Sunday off before returning to practice field next week. The Trojans open the 2014 regular season on the road against LSU on August 22. The squad's home opener is set for August 26 against Alabama State.
