Marc Skinner Named NCBWA Freshman All-American

TROY, Ala. - The postseason accolades continue to pile up for Troy freshman Marc Skinner as he was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-American team on Monday.

Just 32 players are selected nationally and Skinner was the lone selection from the Sun Belt Conference.

It is the right-hander's second All-American honor this year; he was named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American last week. Skinner, a Phenix City, Ala., native, was named Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and second team All-Sun Belt last month.

Skinner led the Trojans with six wins and five saves on the season while posting a 1.52 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 65 innings of work. His 31 appearances were the sixth most in a season by a Troy pitcher.
