Trojans Close Home Season with Texas State

TROY, Ala. – Just three home games remain for the Troy softball team, with conference for Texas State coming to town this weekend. The Trojans will dedicate the new Dodds Center prior to Saturday's games and celebrate senior day on Sunday.
First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m., while first pitch on Sunday will be at 11 a.m.

Troy (19-27-2, 2-11 SBC) took down Florida A&M on Tuesday night, 4-0. Jaycee Affeldt was the top performer, striking out a career-high 11 batters while allowing just four hits. Heather Johnston and Meg Willis provided the offensive spark, with Johnston hitting her third home run of the season and Willis driving in two on a single in the sixth.
Texas State (22-27, 5-10 SBC) fell to Texas on Wednesday night, 15-6. The Bobcats are led this season by Courtney Harris with a .336 batting average. Kortney Koroll and Katie Doerre lead the squad with seven home runs each, while Kendall Wiley's 32 RBIs pace the team.
Troy will have a dedication ceremony for the new Dodds Center prior to the first game on Saturday. The new, 8,000-square foot facility holds the Troy locker rooms, training room, batting cages and pitching area.
The Trojans will also celebrate senior day on Sunday, prior to the final game of the series. Troy will honor its class of three seniors as they play in their final game at the Troy Softball Complex.
Troy is 0-1 all-time against Texas State, with the only meeting coming last season.
