Pair of Trojans Ranked Nationally; Men’s Squad Also Ranked

TROY, Ala. – Two members of the Troy track and field team are currently ranked in the top-10 in the nation among athletes 20 years old or younger, while the men's track and field team is ranked 15th in the South Region.
Corina Cox is currently ranked third in her primary event, the discus. Her best throw of the season came at the Alabama Relays at 49.99 meters. Overall, Cox is ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference in the event and 69th in the nation.
Sean Kent is Troy's other nationally ranked U20 athlete, as he is currently ranked 10th in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Kent put up his best time of the season at the USF Invitational in mid-March at 10:09.03. Kent is also ranked 10th in the Sun Belt.
The Troy men are ranked 15th in the South Region for the second time this season. Troy has several men that currently sit in the top-100 in the nation in their respective events.
Ben Martin is 23rd in the country in the 100-meter dash with a season-best time of 10.28 seconds, set at the Alabama Relays. Jordan Landburg is 45th in the 400-meter dash at 46.84 seconds, while Zach Douglas is 49th in the shot put after his school record breaking performance at the War Eagle Invitational last weekend.
Troy's 4x100-meter relay team is 63rd in the nation, while javelin throw Hayes Grissom is 60th.
The Trojans host the 2014 Coach "O" Invitational this weekend, beginning on Friday afternoon.
