Trojans Take on Lady Rattlers in Final Midweek Contest of the Season

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team will take on Florida A&M on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Troy Softball Complex. It will be the final non-conference game of the season for the Trojans.

Troy (18-27-2) dropped a pair of games to No. 17 Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. Jaycee Affeldt took the loss in game one, after allowing just two hits and no earned runs in a complete game effort. The Trojans out-hit the Ragin' Cajuns 5-2 in game one.
Ebony Wright continues to pace the Trojans in batting average at .333. Affeldt has been the top performer in the circle, posting a 2.70 ERA with 151 strikeouts, the third most strikeouts in the league.
Florida A&M (16-24) picked up a split with North Carolina Central over the weekend, dropping game one 3-2 and taking game two 4-0.
The Lady Rattlers are led by Whitney Farris with a .385 batting average. Denise Anderson leads the squad with five home runs and 26 RBIs. Ashleigh Minter has be the top starter for the Lady Rattlers, posting a 3.63 ERA with 46 strikeouts over 104 innings this season.
Troy is 39-13 all-time against Florida A&M, including a 22-3 mark at home. The last meeting came during the 2012 season, with Troy winning on the road 4-2.
The Trojans host just three more games this season. Troy will take on Texas State in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 1 p.m. Prior to the game there will be a dedication ceremony for the Dodds Center, the new, 8,000 square foot softball practice facility. Sunday will be the final home game of the year and will serve as senior day. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m., with senior day ceremonies taking place prior.
