Huynh Earns Third Sun Belt Athlete of Week Award

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Troy's Trang Huynh was named the Sun Belt Female Tennis Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Huynh has now won the award in two consecutive weeks and three times this season.
In Troy's lone match of the week, a win over UL Lafayette, Huynh dominated her singles match at No. 1 and won at No. 1 doubles as well. The sophomore cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Nelo Phiri at No. 1 singles for the Trojans, giving her six straight singles wins and helping Troy to its sixth straight win as a team.
In doubles play, Huynh and Anja Cosovic continued to dominate as they defeated Nicole Breaux and Phiri, 8-6, for their 12th straight doubles win. The pair is now 13-2 on the season.
Huynh and the Trojans play at Jacksonville State on Wednesday afternoon and have just four regular season matches remaining before the Sun Belt Championships begin on April 17 in New Orleans, La.
