TROY, Ala. – The Trojans dropped a pair of games to conference leader No. 17 Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday at the Troy Softball Complex.

Troy (18-27-2, 2-11 SBC) fell in game one, 5-0. The Ragin' Cajuns (33-7-1, 13-1 SBC) took game two, 9-0.

Jaycee Affeldt was strong in the circle in game one, allowing just two hits and not allowing an earned run in a complete game effort. Game two was a different story, as the Cajuns picked up 16 hits.

Louisiana-Lafayette pitcher Christina Hamilton earned the win in both games, throwing 13 total innings.

Next up for the Trojans is a Tuesday afternoon tilt against Florida A&M. First pitch from the Troy Softball Complex is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Troy 0, Louisiana-Lafayette 5 (Game 1)

Affeldt got the start in game one and had a solid outing, striking out six and allowing just two hits and no earned runs. The Trojans out-hit the Cajuns 5-2.

The Cajuns got on the board in the third with a grand slam by Shellie Landry. They would add another in the fourth on a wild pitch. All of the Ragin' Cajuns' runs were unearned.

Kacie McAllister had a pair of hits, while Ebony Wright, Chandler Griffin and Jaycee Affeldt had one hit each.

Troy 0, Louisiana-Lafayette 9 (Game 2)

Hamilton came back to start game two and continued to stifle the Trojan batters. She allowed just three hits in the second game, tossing six innings.

Louisiana-Lafayette struck first in game two as well, with Samantha Walsh hitting a solo home urn in the second. The Cajuns then scored three more in the third, with Landry hitting a bases-clearing double to right field. They would add two in the fifth and three in the seventh.

McAllister, Wright and Griffin each had hits in game two.
