Trojans Ready for Three Game Series at UT Arlington

ARLINGTON, Texas – Troy softball heads out to take on UT Arlington in a three game series this weekend at Allen Saxe Field. The Trojans and Mavericks are currently tied in the Sun Belt Conference standings.

Troy (17-24-2) defeated UAB, 3-2, in eight innings on Thursday night in Birmingham. The Trojans led 2-0 early, but needed an eighth-inning, RBI double by Erica Davis to take the win.
Jaycee Affeldt and Ashley Rainey were solid in the circle, allowing just two runs and seven hits over eight innings of work.
UT Arlington (16-23) took down Abilene Christian 8-0 on Wednesday. Overall, the Mavericks have dropped 14-of-17 games coming into the weekend series.
Nina Villanueva leads the Mavericks in most statistical categories, including batting average (.336), home runs (7) and RBIs (32).
Troy is 0-2 all-time against UTA, with both meetings coming last season.
